Logo that I designed for my class (Nanotechnology Engineering 2015, University of Waterloo.)

The lightning bolt represents electricity, the gear represents engineering and the beakers represent chemistry. The DNA represents molecular machines and the atom represents quantum. pi and epsilon are two Greek letters we encounter frequently. the calculator both represents math and displays our graduation date. The cat is an allusion to Schrodinger’s cat. The joke is that it is unhappy about being both alive and dead. The circle with two crosses is a reference to something one of our professors frequently drew on the chalk board. Shenanogans in our class name, and the hexagons that both the images and letters are within represent a graphite lattice of carbon atoms.
