Books and Movies

They are making How I Live Now into a movie and I don’t know how I feel about that except a little choked up. I loved that book so much, I hope they do it justice. This on top of Ender’s Game and The Fault in Our Stars. Plus Catching Fire. I just have a lot of feelings. I don’t want to have my personal worlds ruined by poor adaptions. There’s just something special about books.

I feel I should warn you all that the quality and punctuality of my daily arts will be low over the next couple days as I have a Calculus final on Tuesday that I am studying for like mad. Should pick up again after that.

Hey guys! I made this valentine last year on valentines eve.

I got a lot of really nice comments from people who liked them so I’m putting them up here again.

If you’d like to get some, they’re now for sale in my etsy shop!

Here’s the original post, if you’re interested.

Happy early valentines day guys 🙂

I made this stamp set inspired by Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. I think they turned out really cute, especially as a print or as little speech bubbles.

It’s now for sale on Etsy if you want to check it out.

This Valentines card was inspired by Alanna and the Valentine she made.

I really loved the idea and wanted to try designing a valentine around the same idea. It’s also my first project using illustrator, so I’m doubly excited about it.

I know it’s sort of late, but feel free to print this out and share the tfios love around.

For anyone who is confused by this, check out John Green’s newest book The Fault In Our Stars from your library, or anywhere books are sold.

EDIT: These are now also for sale on my Etsy! Check it out here!

This is obviously just a plan for a cover; I’m pretty much artistically talentless but I’m a little bit obsessed by this idea and would love to see it made by another, more talented Nerdfighter.

I’ve interpreted the title as thus:

  • John said he sort of disagreed with the Shakespeare quote
  • “The fault, Dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves” – an argument for free will, and against the idea of fate?
  • Fate being determined by stars, and Cancer being a constellation and Zodiac / star sign.
  • The title, again John disagreeing with the original implication, then meaning that the fault (i.e. cancer) isn’t within the characters’ control, but in the stars (i.e. fate) – The Fault In Our Stars.
  • Hence the use of the Cancer constellation.

Hope people can read my annotations OK 🙂

I really like this idea

Niiiiiiice. Sharkeye Jones takes on the TFiOS cover.

Nerdfighter Sharkeye Jones is just brilliant.

I am very excited for this book. I think this is my favourite cover so far.
