The idea of philotics is truly intriguing, but even if you aren&#8217;t into imaginary theoretical physics, this book is amazing. In the heart of this story are the characters, who tend to be brilliant, wounded and incredibly real. The survival of 3, possibly 4, intelligent sentient species hang in the balance of human corruption, tragedy, cleverness and compassion. However, before you dig your teeth in to this gem of a book, please become properly informed of the back story by reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Enders-Game-Orson-Scott-Card\/dp\/0765342294\/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1271225121&amp;sr=1-2\" target=\"_blank\">Ender&#8217;s Game<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Speaker-Dead-Orson-Scott-Card\/dp\/0812550757\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1271225173&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\">Speaker for the Dead<\/a>.
