I adored Shirley Temple as a child. She was kind of my idol. The last few days I have been thinking back on childhood memories and realizing how much the things I liked then impacted my world view, and the effect they continue to have.
I also think it was girls like Shirley Temple and the fictional character Sara Crewe that made me want curls so badly.
