Grease plays all week | Local News | Kimberley Daily Bulletin

Today I sang

for the music teacher. He said I had a good ear and a good range. I sang a part of Cannonball, pretty well I believe, since my voice was warmed up from two hours of practising Christmas carols. He also asked me how I was doing, which is always nice to hear, and I’m happy to report all is well. I told him how happy I am to be in choir, but he said he already knew, I always look happy to be there. I’m getting very very excited for footloose, and hoping desperately for a singing part. Please please pleaseeee. In fact, I’m going to finish memorizing my lines for Treasure Island this weekend, to show my seriousness.

Wish me luck 🙂

I have never had a good sense of direction, but I haven’t ever needed one either, after all, how can you get lost when you live in a town with one main street… When I moved I figured out how to get to school easily, follow 14th, until, well, you get to school. Today, however, my mission was to find a friends house, not to visit, but just to see if I could get there by myself. Its amazing how useful numbered streets are. Me and David Bowie (Dana’s dog) reached our goal, and made it home safe and sound as the sun set.

On another note auditions for Footloose were today! Hurrah! The process is far from over but it felt good to sing and act a bit. I didn’t get much acting in last year and I’d forgotten how fun it is! All us up and coming stars learned a part of the song footloose and then paired off to do a scene that goes something like this….

Girl: Do you want to kiss me?

Boy: Someday.

Girl: What do you mean someday?/Why not now?

(boy expresses that he knows girl has been kissed a lot and is afraid he won’t measure up)

I was lucky…I got to go first. 🙂 I think I did a good job, and it was fun to act with Frank. It was hilarious to watch all the deviations and interpretations of the other actors: aggressive girls, shy girls, mean boys, nervous boys, rude boys, insults, near kisses, and lots of laughter. It was also funny that there were around 3 times as many girls as boys so all the boys had 2 or 3 turns.

It’s time to watch my favourite show about show choir and eat some ice cream! goodnight!
