OMG SO GREAT
This is a thing I made.
I created all the buckyball formations and photographed them myself. I also improved my Photoshop skills by attempting to separate them from the background/shadows. I used the magic wand, easy select, magnetic laso, circular selection tool, among other things. I also changed the images to black and white, and changed the exposure and gamma correction. Last of all, I created the composition. I printed a couple of these for TEDxUW tomorrow.
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Scott C. So I am totally in love with his new book, Amazing Everything: The Art of Scott C, a collection of wiggly-lined, happy-faced watercolour illustrations and paintings.
Scott manages to infuse each brushstroke, each little dude with happiness, optimism, and joy. His is a refreshing and original voice in the world of picture-making, and this book is a sure-fire pick-me-up, reminding everyone who reads it just how fun drawing can be.
The book is sadly missing his Great Showdowns, but maybe that means we can look for a Great Showdowns book in the future? Let’s hope.
But wait! Did you know he actually has two new books out? He also illustrated a picture book for kids called Zombie in Love, written by Kelly DiPucchio, about an undead fella named Mortimer (get it?) who looks for love in all the wrong places. These are good times for Scott C fans.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
This helps make up for jobmine being so sucky.
Also, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
PAX 2011 Wil Wheaton – John Green’s What it means to be a nerd
this video will never NOT give me feelings. <3333
DFTBA!
John Green is my hero.
I’m jumping up and down in my chair, can’t control myself, loving this.
I’ve always loved this quote 🙂
I skipped ahead a bit in my drawing challenge. This is day 13, a comic. I couldn’t figure out how to improve the quality of my scan, or if my scanner was already at max quality but I did my best. This is the first time I’ve tried colouring in a comic using a computer program and I’m quite proud of the result. I’d love to do more of this sort of thing, especially if I get one of those spiffy Inkling pens.
So a bit about the comic. I forget where I first read about ordinary superpowers, but I loved the idea. I think everyone should consider what their ordinary superpowers are and celebrate them. Don’t forget to be awesome, you know? For example, an ordinary superpower of giraffes’ could be loving one another so so much, and one of my ordinary superpowers could be resisting reblogging every cute cat video I see. One of Adam’s superpowers is clearly having an incredibly long reach. 🙂
P.S. Tell me about your ordinary superpower and I may just use it in my next comic!
It’ll go up tomorrow 🙂
