Journal

I wish I had the time to do things like participate in ze’s missions and draw little comics, and edit photos and write amateur articles for tumblr. Make stamps and journal more and the rest of it. Things that just take little chunks of times and use creativity, and things that take more time like designing  tumblr theme and starting an etsy shop.

I recognize this wish and agree to put it mostly aside for the time being, because school is busy but worthwhile, and writing about stuff in the past can be as fun as the present, and I will always have more project ideas but that doesn’t mean I have to abandon the ones I have now. School is worth putting the time in to, and putting these projects aside for the time being, and I understand that and won’t punish myself for it.

And that doesn’t mean I can’t spend 5 minutes writing this, or doodling that, but my most precious projects may not get done, or very few may get done, and the things that do may just be because they flit through my mind at the right moment, and that’s okay for now.

Oh, and I like twitter so far…

I skipped ahead a bit in my drawing challenge. This is day 13, a comic. I couldn’t figure out how to improve the quality of my scan, or if my scanner was already at max quality but I did my best. This is the first time I’ve tried colouring in a comic using a computer program and I’m quite proud of the result. I’d love to do more of this sort of thing, especially if I get one of those spiffy Inkling pens.

So a bit about the comic. I forget where I first read about ordinary superpowers, but I loved the idea. I think everyone should consider what their ordinary superpowers are and celebrate them. Don’t forget to be awesome, you know? For example, an ordinary superpower of giraffes’ could be loving one another so so much, and one of my ordinary superpowers could be resisting reblogging every cute cat video I see. One of Adam’s superpowers is clearly having an incredibly long reach. 🙂

P.S. Tell me about your ordinary superpower and I may just use it in my next comic!

Dear Google Calandar,

I am sorry to inform you that I will be using you less then we both expected. As much as I love using you and/or paper agendas to write down every little thing that happens in my life it simply can not be done. I’d rather be doing things than writing in that detail, even about all the good things that happen. We’re way past the point where every positive human interaction I have needs to be recorded, date and time and who said what, aren’t we? Whatever the answer, we will be over it now, okay? Don’t feel rejected, for you are a very useful program and I will continue to use you for time management, and to add entries when I feel like it, plus to keep track of school deadlines, events, homework etc. But the time you were taking up before is just too much, so I will be refining my usage. Journaling etc. should be something enjoyable, not stressful. So I’ll agree to let go if you do too, alright?

Love,

Kamilah
